FAQs

Many parents wonder if their child’s speech and language skills are developing as they should, but it can be hard to know what to ask—or where to find clear answers.

No question is too big or too small for the SpeakBright team. Here are some of the questions we hear most often.

What is a Parent Intro Call?

The Parent Introduction Call is a complimentary, 15-minute conversation designed to understand your primary concerns, discuss your child's history, and determine if our services are the right fit. It's an opportunity for us to connect before committing to a formal consultation or evaluation.

Do you practice in person or online?

We offer a flexible hybrid model! We provide both in-person sessions (typically conducted at your child's school, home or our office) and engaging teletherapy (online) sessions, depending on your location, scheduling needs, and your child's goals. We will determine the best approach during your initial consultation.

How far will you travel?

In-person services are currently offered within Philadelphia. This is to ensure we can maintain a reliable schedule and maximize treatment time. Location (home, school or in office) will be determined after initial consultation and to maximize effective therapy services. If you are outside this area, teletherapy is a wonderful, effective option!

What makes your private practice unique?

Our practice focuses on a holistic, family-centered approach. We don't just treat the child; we empower the whole family. This includes deep communication with teachers, advocacy support, and ensuring that all strategies are practical and naturally integrated into your daily life.

What are your rates for services?

Our rates are structured based on the service type (e.g., evaluation, 45-minute therapy session, advocacy consultation) and whether travel is included. For transparency, a detailed fee schedule is provided upon request after our initial Parent Intro Call, ensuring you understand all costs upfront.

Billing/Invoicing

For simplicity, we use a secure online system for billing. You will receive an invoice [e.g., weekly or monthly] via email, and payment and payment schedule [e.g., payment due date].

Insurance?

At this time, we are an out-of-network provider (meaning we do not bill insurance companies directly). However, we can provide you with a detailed, itemized statement, called a "superbill," that you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We can discuss how to navigate this process during your consultation.

How long does therapy typically last?

Therapy is highly individualized! The duration depends on the child's specific goals, the nature of the speech or language need, and consistency of practice. We will collaborate to set achievable benchmarks and constantly review progress, ensuring we are always working toward timely dismissal.
